The Society of Applied Mathematics Students (SAMS), formerly known as the Society of United Mathematicians and Statisticians (SUMS), is a non- profit, non-political, and non-religious student organization at West Visayas State University. Composed of BSAM students, SAMS serves as a platform for academic excellence, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration in applied mathematics. Through seminars, workshops, competitions, and networking events, the organization fosters a strong mathematical foundation and enhances problem-solving skills among its members.

SAMS aims to cultivate a deeper appreciation for applied mathematics by encouraging innovative thinking and real-world applications of mathematical concepts. It is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students can develop their abilities, engage in analytical discussions, and contribute to solving practical challenges across various fields.
